Historical Versions of the Mozilla Browser for
BSD/OS
This page has links to various obsolete versions of the Mozilla browser. Do not run any of the
software listed on this page -- do yourself a favor and get a current version of the browser software.
- Version 1.0 -
Final!
- This is a build of the official release for the Mozilla browser,
version 1.0. A detailed README file that discusses how it was built is
also available. No additional libraries need to be installed to run
this version of the browser. A compiled form of the browser is
available for both the sparc and x86 architecture machines running
BSD/OS 4.2. Currently the only available build for BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
An IPv6 enabled version of the browser is also available for BSD/OS 4.3
(x86).
Version
1.0RC3
- This is a build of the third release candidate for the 1.0 Mozilla
browser (a.k.a. 1.0RC3), as well as a detailed README file that
discusses how it was built. No additional libraries need to be
installed to run this version of the browser. A compiled form of the
browser will be available for both the sparc and x86 architecture
machines running BSD/OS 4.2. Currently the only available build for
BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
Version
1.0RC2
- This is a build of the 1.0RC2 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser will be available for both the
sparc and x86 architecture machines running BSD/OS 4.2. Currently the
only available build for BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
Version
1.0RC1
- This is a build of the 1.0RC1 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser will be available for both the
sparc and x86 architecture machines running BSD/OS 4.2. Currently the
only available build for BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
Version 0.9.9
- This is a build of the 0.9.9 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser will be available for both the
sparc and x86 architecture machines running BSD/OS 4.2. Currently the
only available build for BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
Note: There is also an IPv6 enabled version of the x86 BSD/OS 4.3
browser. If you have IPv6 connectivity, you might want to experiment
with this version.
Version 0.9.8
- This is a build of the 0.9.8 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser will be available for both the
sparc and x86 architecture machines. Currently the only available build
for BSD/OS 4.3 is x86.
Note: This version of the browser has been locally patched with a
small change that is documented in the README-bsdos
file
included in this release.
Version 0.9.7
- This is a build of the 0.9.7 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser is available for both the sparc
and x86 architecture machines.
Note: This version of the browser has been locally patched with a
small change that is documented in the README-bsdos
file
included in this release.
Version 0.9.6
- This is a build of the 0.9.6 version of the Mozilla browser, as
well as a detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser is available for both the sparc
and x86 architecture machines.
Note: This version of the browser has been locally patched with a
small change that was not applied to the source branch for the 0.9.6

Version 0.9.5
- This is the 0.9.5 version of the Mozilla browser, as well as a
detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No additional
libraries need to be installed to run this version of the browser. A
compiled form of the browser is available for both the sparc and x86
architecture machines.
Note: This version of the browser has been locally patched with two
small changes that were not applied to the source branch for the 0.9.5
release. I felt these changes were very important to have in the

Version 0.9.4
- This is the 0.9.4 version of the Mozilla browser, as well as a
detailed README file that discusses how it was built. No additional
libraries need to be installed to run this version of the browser. A
compiled form of the browser is available for both the sparc and x86
architecture machines.
Note: This version of the browser has been locally patched with a
small change that was not applied to the source branch for the 0.9.4
release. I felt this change (and resulting fix of a bug) was very
important to have in the browser. You can view the details of the bug

Version 0.9.3
- The 0.9.3 version of the Mozilla browser, as well as a detailed
README file that discusses how it was built. No additional libraries
need to be installed to run this version of the browser. A compiled
form of the browser is available for both the sparc and x86
architecture machines.
Version 0.9.2
- The 0.9.2 version of the Mozilla browser, as well as a detailed
README file that discusses how it was built. The system requirements
are actually less than those of the previous several snapshots -- no
additional libraries need to be installed to run this version of the
browser. A compiled form of the browser is available for both the sparc
and x86 architecture machines.
